  • Entry Requirements

The Catering ACS Gas renewals course is for Gas Safe Registered operatives who need to renew their Catering ACS qualifications.

These changes reflect the NEW Pre-requisite Training for experienced operatives as Published in GN8

In a nutshell you can ONLY choose ACS codes on this course if they appear on your previous certificates (we will require sight of your gas safe card &/or previous certificates). If you require to add an ACS code (Extend Range e.g add another ACS code to your Commercial gas Range) then you will be required to book onto our Commercial ACS Gas Extension of Range course where, if you have no previous on-site experience, we will carry out RWE (Real Work Environment training & experience in accordance with GN8 prior to assessing you). If you wish to add a further scope (e.g LPG Gas) we will require you to book onto our LPG ACS Gas Extension of Scope course where, if you have no previous on-site experience, we will carry out RWE (Real Work Environment training & experience in accordance with GN8 prior to assessing you). The scheme expects engineers to gain some experience in what they’ve been trained initially before extending the scope of their work.

Please note: These changes are nationwide and are not coming from CCTS. All training centres in Britain & Northern Ireland will have to adhere to the new requirements.

In order to undertake re-assessment, operatives must complete the course no more than 12 months after the expiry date of their existing qualifications.

The CCCN1 re-assessment can be completed up to six months before this expiry date.

Gas installers who have held the qualifications previously but have let them lapse by more than 12 month, must undertake a Managed learning Programme (MLP)

Candidates who have never held COCN1 but have transferable skills and experience may be eligible for the Logic MLP (Managed Learning Programme)

Gas Safe Registered Operatives may only undertake gas appliance re-assessment in modules which they have previously been certificated under the ACS scheme
