  • Course Overview

    CCTS City & Guilds 2382-26 18th Edition training course (Amendment 4) is for experienced electricians and those requiring a working knowledge of the British Standard BS7671:2018 (2026 ORANGE Book as from 01/06/26 with Amendment 4:2026) 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. It is a Level 3 RQF qualification

    Candidates may also choose the LCL Awards version  as opposed to the City & Guilds on-line version

  • Entry Requirements

    This qualification is primarily aimed at practisingelectricians with relevant experience and other alliedprofessionals eg surveyors, consultants and othertrades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IET Wiring Regulations.It is also suitable for anyone wishing to demonstratean understanding of the IET 18th Edition WiringRegulations (BS 7671)

  • Do I need this course?

    This qualification is primarily aimed at practising electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals eg surveyors, consultants and othertrades needing to update and enhance their understanding of IET Wiring Regulations.It is also suitable for anyone wishing to demonstrate an understanding of the IET 18th Edition WiringRegulations (BS 7671)

    You may wish to complete a one day upgrade if you have the old 2382-22

  • Need Extra time to revise? & approximate Certification Times

    Please Note: Your exam will normally take place at the end of the course. However, if the tutor or assessor agrees that additional study time is required, you may be offered the option to return at the end of the next available course. Please inform your class tutor if you believe you need additional time so this can be discussed. For more information refer to our website Terms & Conditions of Service.

    Our aim and KPI (Key Performance Indicator) is to achieve successful candidate certification within 30 working days from completion of exams/assessments, receipt of all prerequisite information (e.g. past certificates), and payment in full. Certification is subject to final approval by the relevant Awarding Body External Verifier.

  • Reading Material & Text books required?

    Candidates will have all the books made available to them to use whilst training from CCTS Liibrary, which are necessary to complete the course. However we do recommend that candidates purchase, for their own later use the following textbooks which can be purchased from us or seperatley online:-

    1. BS 7671:2018 + A4:2026 (The Orange Book)

    This is the newest Wiring Regulations, replacing the 2022 Brown Book.Updated for all four amendments including:

    • Stationary Secondary Batteries

    • Power over Ethernet

    • Revised medical locations

    • New test result schedules

    2. IET Guidance Note 3 – 10th Edition (2026)

    This is the latest GN3, fully updated to BS 7671:2018+A4:2026.Includes updates on:

    • Identification of conductors

    • Prosumers electrical installations

    • New EFLI maximum permissible values

    • Updated inspection frequencies

    3. IET On-Site Guide – 9th Edition (2026)

    Updated to align with BS 7671:2018+A4:2026.Includes new topics such as:

    • Bidirectional/unidirectional protective devices

    • Stationary Secondary Batteries

    • Updated Zs values

    • RCD selection guidance
