It is normally a one-day, practical course based on the HSENI standard for workplace first-aid training in Northern Ireland. It is best suited to lower-risk workplaces or organisations whose first-aid assessment identifies the need for an emergency first aider. Sucesfull candidates will achieve a QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF).
In simple terms, it trains you to keep someone safe and provide immediate basic treatment until an ambulance or other professional help arrives. It is less comprehensive than the longer First Aid at Work course.
