This blended-learning course combines online theory with practical training. The price includes use of the CCTS computer suite, tutor support and invigilation where required.

The course is suitable for candidates who have limited computer skills or need to complete their training in a supervised environment so that their work can be verified as their own—for example, as part of a Managed Learning Programme. Companies may also choose this option to help fulfil their health and safety responsibilities.

These Regulations, often abbreviatedto PUWER, place duties on people and companies who own, operate or have controlover work equipment. PUWER also places responsibilities on businesses andorganisations whose employees use work equipment, whether owned by them or not.

PUWER requires that equipmentprovided for use at work is:

§ suitable for theintended use

§ safe for use,maintained in a safe condition and inspected to ensure it is correctlyinstalled and does not subsequently deteriorate

§ used only by peoplewho have received adequate information, instruction and training

§ accompanied bysuitable health and safety measures, such as protective devices and controls.These will normally include guarding, emergency stop devices, adequate means ofisolation from sources of energy, clearly visible markings and warning devices
